Waarom studeren aan de Radboud Universiteit?

Waarom zou je voor de opleiding Geschiedenis van de Radboud Universiteit kiezen? Historici zijn nodig om op verantwoorde wijze ons gezamenlijke verleden te onderzoeken. De opleiding Geschiedenis aan de Radboud Universiteit is gericht op het verwerven van kennis van en inzicht in historische processen, gebeurtenissen, groepen en personen. Het gaat hierbij om een overzicht van de geschiedenis van de mensheid vanaf de vroege oudheid tot heden en om de samenhang binnen die geschiedenis. In dit historisch onderzoek pas je de verworven historische kennis en inzichten toe en diep je dit verder uit. Je leert vanuit een wetenschapsfilosofische invalshoek op het vakgebied te reflecteren, wordt aangezet tot interdisciplinair denken en getraind in schriftelijke en mondelinge communicatievaardigheden. Ook het verwerven van inzicht in het functioneren van historische kennis en historisch besef in de samenleving en hoe deze op de arbeidsmarkt behoren, komt bij onze opleiding aan bod.

Waarom lid van de studievereniging?

Waarom zou je lid worden van GSV Excalibur? GSV Excalibur is de studievereniging verbonden aan de opleiding Geschiedenis van de Radboud Universiteit. Anders dan bij studentenverenigingen zijn studieverenigingen nauw verbonden aan een specifieke opleiding en is het lidmaatschap zeer laagdrempelig. In tegenstelling tot studentenverenigingen kent GSV Excalibur als studievereniging dan ook geen sociale druk, ontgroeningen en soort gelijke zaken. GSV Excalibur is een democratische vereniging, waar iedereen zich welkom kan voelen. De studievereniging staat in goed contact met de opleiding en organiseert activiteiten die een toevoeging zijn op de studie Geschiedenis en biedt daarnaast ook ondersteuning bij de studie Geschiedenis. Naast studiegerelateerde activiteiten biedt GSV Excalibur ook een breed scala aan sociale activiteiten aan om het contact tussen geschiedenisstudenten onderling, maar ook tussen geschiedenisstudenten en docenten te bevorderen. Om deze redenen zijn dan ook bijna alle studenten Geschiedenis lid van de studievereniging. Ga jij geschiedenis studeren in Nijmegen? Why choose the Comparative European History programme at Radboud University? Historians are needed to responsibly research our common past. The Comparative European History programme at Radboud University aims to gain knowledge and understanding of historical processes, events, groups and individuals. This involves an overview of the history of mankind from early antiquity to the present and the connections within that history. In this historical research, you apply and deepen the acquired historical knowledge and insights. You learn to reflect on the field from a scientific-philosophical angle, are encouraged to think interdisciplinary and trained in written and oral communication skills. Our programme also covers gaining insight into the functioning of historical knowledge and historical awareness in society and how they belong on the job market.

Why become a member of the study association?

Why should you become a member of GSV Excalibur? GSV Excalibur is the study association associated with the Comparative European History programme at Radboud University. Unlike student associations, study associations are closely linked to a specific study programme and membership is very open. Unlike student associations, GSV Excalibur as a study association therefore has no social pressure, initiation and similar issues. GSV Excalibur is a democratic association, where everyone can feel welcome. The study association is in good contact with the study and organises activities that add to the study of history and also offers support in the study of history. Besides study-related activities, GSV Excalibur also offers a wide range of social activities to promote contact between history students, but also between history students and teachers.
